The donkeys which were brought to England by the Romans two thousand years ago were used as pack animals. There is very little evidence of donkeys in Ireland before the seventeenth century insofar as they are not mentioned in the early literature nor are they depicted in art very much.

Adrian Cronin was born in Bantry, the Heart of West Cork. Having studied fisheries science in Tralee he then worked in Greece, Connemara & East Cork before returning to and settling down in Bantry. He married Caroline and 3 sons later they now own Bantry Photo Shop.
His love of nature and scenery can be seen in his photographic works.
If you call to the shop and he’s not there you can most likely find him on a hilltop or coastline with his trusty Canon camera in hand.
