Francis O’Neill was born the youngest of seven children in Tralibane, outside Bantry in West Cork, and rose to be the General Superintendent of Police in the city of Chicago, a post he held from 1901 to 1905. ‘Chief O’Neill’, as he became known, is still remembered fondly for his legacy as an officer of the law, but it’s his dedication to traditional Irish music, and the work he did to sustain it, that gives the true measure of the man.

Bantry is a beautiful and modern harbour town in West Cork, one of the most picturesque parts of Ireland.

It is located along the renowned Wild Atlantic Way touring route and is the perfect base from which to explore these stunning lands.  The people here embrace visitors as one of their own, so don’t be surprised if locals strike up a conversation or wave hello to you as you drive past.

Adrian Cronin was born in Bantry, the Heart of West Cork. Having studied fisheries science in Tralee he then worked in Greece, Connemara & East Cork before returning to and settling down in Bantry. He married Caroline and 3 sons later they now own Bantry Photo Shop.

His love of nature and scenery can be seen in his photographic works.
If you call to the shop and he’s not there you can most likely find him on a hilltop or coastline with his trusty Canon camera in hand.
